Postwar Lionel O Gauge 205 Missouri Pacific MP Alco diesel locomotive units. P unit is a rare "painted" backing support version with the factory removed pilot skirt, hairline below nose tab, C6. T unit was heat stamped with all the 205 Missouri Pacific BLT 8-57 BY LIONEL before the shell was painted. It was then painted and heat stamped a second time on top of the blue paint like a normal production piece. The Missouri Pacific lettering lines up about 95% tough to see. But, the BLT 8-57 BY LIONEL and the 205 numbers, clearly do not line up at all. Pilot skirt support is "unpainted". Inside of shell is unmarked, no internal labels or markings. Piece made during the setting up of where the stampings were to hit, pre-production sample that got painted and sent out..?? Monday morning factory error? T unit looks C7.
